Jetting mechanisms in bubble-pair interactions

چکیده

Jetting mechanisms in cavitation bubbles play a crucial role the destructive forces of cavitation. Depending on application, these can have desirable effects like medical treatments or catastrophic erosion ship propellers. Still today, thorough understanding all details complex bubble collapse scenarios is lacking. Hence, this work, we numerically investigate jetting for air pairs water following recent experimental setup. We apply finite-volume approach with fifth-order low-dissipation shock-capturing weighted essentially non-oscillatory reconstruction. The interface interaction described by conservative sharp-interface level-set method. For time integration, third-order total-variation-diminishing Runge–Kutta scheme employed. Complementing observations, our simulations reveal presence dominating gas jets and new types mechanisms.

Dynamics and mechanisms of intracellular calcium waves elicited by tandem bubble-induced jetting flow.

One of the earliest events in cellular mechanotransduction is often an increase in intracellular calcium concentration associated with intracellular calcium waves (ICWs) in various physiologic or pathophysiologic processes. Although cavitation-induced calcium responses are believed to be important for modulating downstream bioeffects such as cell injury and mechanotransduction in ultrasound the...

Numerical simulation of bubble interactions

Introduction Single bubble dynamics has been intensively investigated theoretically, experimentally and numerically during the last century [1]. Analysis of the interactions between bubbles in a cavitating flow or the interactions among an individual bubble pair has risen from the demand of a more comprehensive understanding of bubble dynamics. When a bubble is induced near an interface by a la...

Electron to Selectron Pair Conversion in a Susy Bubble

In the standard model, energy release in dense stars is severely restricted by the Pauli exclusion principle. However, if, in regions of space of high fermion degeneracy, there is a phase transition to a state of exact supersymmetry (SUSY), fermion to sfermion pair conversion followed by radiative transitions to the Bose ground state could lead to a highly collimated gamma ray burst. We calcula...

A Single-cell Membrane Dynamic from Poration to Restoration by Bubble-induced Jetting Flow

This paper demonstrates a new method to porate single suspension living cell membrane using cavitation bubble-induced high speed jet flow. A microfluidic chip with an array of single cell trapping structures is designed and fabricated to trap sing cell and induce the asymmetric collapse of the cavitation bubble. Myeloma cells suspended in Trypan blue saline solution is tested and single Myeloma...
